Privacy policy
This policy covers the Waytech Assistant iPhone app and WAYTECH's notification server.
What we store
- The device code issued by Apple (APNs token) and its delivery environment, so that notifications can reach your iPhone.
- A random channel code for each iPhone and Mac pair, along with hashes of the channel's two access keys.
- The time each channel was created and last used.
None of this is linked to a name, an email address or an account, because the app has no accounts. We use it only to send notifications, never for advertising or tracking.
What we cannot read
Task names, questions and notification content are encrypted on your Mac, and only your paired iPhone can decrypt them. Our server does not store these packages. It only passes them on to Apple's notification service.
IP addresses and logs
The server keeps IP addresses in memory to limit the number of requests, and does not write them to disk. Logs record only the general route, the status code and the processing time.
Third parties
- Apple receives the device code and the encrypted package in order to deliver notifications.
- Google Fonts supplies the typeface for this website, so your browser connects to Google when it opens these pages. The iPhone app does not use this service.
Data in the app and on your Mac
Pairing keys are kept in the Keychain on your iPhone and Mac. On the same network, your iPhone connects directly to your Mac over an encrypted connection that does not pass through our server.
Keeping and deleting data
A channel is deleted as soon as you unpair on your iPhone or your Mac. A channel unused for 90 days is deleted automatically. Server backups are kept for up to 7 more days. You can turn notifications off at any time in iPhone Settings, and the app still works without them.
